I make my own pickles and pickled peppers from our garden cucumbers and peppers. I use the large canning jars, so a regular fork won't reach the lower half. I got tired of fishing in the brine for pickles, so bought these. They work perfectly! They're long enough to reach to the last pickle without having to put your hand in the brine, yet not heavy or cumbersome. They're also sturdy, so spearing a pickle is easy. I like that they come in a set of four, as I don't want to keep them in the jars, but also don't want to wash one every time I need a pickle, and can just toss them in the dishwasher. No more hands in the pickle brine!
I ordered these for the ability to reach to the bottom of a 7 1/2 “ tall jar for last of the stuffed olives. Not only were they long enough, but the ends were also very sharp. Just what I needed.
I bought one set of 2 long cocktail forks made of 100 percent stainless steel. As you can see they touch the bottom of big pickles' jars. They are 8.85 inches and they look great. Be careful that children do not grab them because the top is really sharp and they could be harmful. Their weight make them pleasant once in hand despite the diameter is 0.25 inches. They are helpful for dirty martini cocktails and more hygienic too than wooden tongs. They go in the dishwasher depending on your basket as they are so thin that they do not fit in mine.

Was looking for a fork to spear pickles, olives, and cherries out of jars. It has a great length to reach the bottoms of the taller jars. Wish the two tines were a bit sharper as you do have to do some stabbing around to finally get something hooked hence the 4 star rating. Overall am happy with these forks.

These are nice and long. I use them for informal family gatherings where I put the stock jar of pickles/olives etc. out on the counter. I didn't consider how careful I have to be - they are very sharp and capable of causing an injury (as are many things in a kitchen). The slim tines don't hold very much at a time. Mostly a novelty and keeps the fork from walking off on someone's plate unintentionally.
