I have been looking for some decent flat kebab skewers with wooden handles for years so was really excited to try these IMEEA brand set of six. The handles are nice and smooth and firmly riveted to the flat metal skewer, the 1cm wide skewers are pointed at the end and are sharp enough to press through meat and vegetables with ease but not so sharp as to be a real hazard in use. After giving them a good wash I mixed up my favourite kebab recipe and once marinated for a couple of hours I loaded up some of the skewers and set about cooking them on a griddle. The wooden handles made turning so much easier and gives you the control to be able to balance and lean them together to cook the edges of kebabs. Because the skewers are flat, using a fork to slide the kebab from the 42cm length of the skewer is easy. Washing after use by hand gave good results with no staining on the handles or skewers, if using a BBQ take care not to burn the handles as this set is worth looking after. The only way this set could be improved was if a sturdy bag was included to keep the skewers together for storage and transportation, I notice that if you buy 8 skewers rather than 6 you do get a storage bag, but as it stands they are well worth the asking price of £13.99 for six skewers.
